March is Women’s History Month, a time to look back at the trailblazers who changed the world. But at the YMCA, we also want to look right here in our own backyard.
Our community is filled with incredible women leading the way today. This week, we are shining a spotlight on Jackie Peters, the CEO of the Alexandria Area YMCA.

"There’s truly nothing better," Jackie says about seeing the firsthand impact of a community that shares the same passion for living well.

Every leader faces a test, and Jackie’s came in 2020. Even when the Y had to close its doors for three months, 60% of members kept their memberships active to support the community.
