SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP

 

The Alexandria Area YMCA's Summer Adventure Camp at Bethesda Lutheran Church is an affordable, educational, full-day childcare program that gives Alexandria area children the opportunity to try new things, make new friends, and create lasting memories.

 

Registration opens February 1.

Summer Adventure Camp offers reliable care for your kids daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., allowing you to tackle your workday without worry.

Summer Adventure Camp is unlike traditional childcare. Kids get the opportunity to go on fun, exciting field trips throughout the summer.

Monday through Friday

June 1 - August 21 | 7:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

August 24 - 28 | 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Campers may register for just one week or all 12 weeks.

 

Campers will bus to field trip locations and the YMCA for swimming 2-3 days per week.

 

Safety is our first priority.

Campers are taught the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

All camp staff are CPR and first-aid certified. With a staff-to-child ratio of 1:12, we make sure that each staff member can give the required attention to each child.

 

Swimming

Children who are 7 or older will complete a swim test given by lifeguards. If they pass they will be given a colored wristband that communicates to staff that the child is allowed to swim in the deep end. Children younger than 7 must remain in the shallow end.

  • Snack
  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen (Lotion preferred, NO aerosol)
  • Swimsuit and Towel on Swim Days
  • Weather Appropriate Clothing
  • Tennis Shoes (No sandals, flip-flops, or open-toed shoes)
  • Please DO NOT bring electronics or toys from home

We recommend labeling belongings with your child's name.

  • Schedule is subject to change based on swimming, field trips or special activities.

  • Families will be informed of field trips a week in advance. Drop-off and pick-up locations may change depending on camp activities.

  • See whiteboard for location of your child’s group.
