The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of our donors that we are able to give back to the community we serve.

The YMCA strongly believes that everyone in our community deserves the opportunity to become a member or participate in one of our many and diverse programs regardless of their ability to pay.
The "Strong Kids" Campaign raises the necessary dollars annually to provide membership and programming opportunities for kids, adults, seniors and families that are financially challenged. We are committed to providing opportunities to those that need a YMCA experience but do not have the financial resources. The YMCA helps build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. With your help, we will succeed:

Help Us, Help Them
Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Your support provides the funds that allow us to offer membership and program assistance to hundreds of kids, adults and families. In 2010, over 900 individuals, or 14% of all YMCA members received a total of $120,000 in membership & program subsidy. In years to come, numbers served by financial assistance will be in the thousands. Give generously and help your friends and neighbors today! Consider a one-time gift from your family or business, or simply add a few dollars onto your monthly membership payment.

The Alexandria Area YMCA opened its doors to a state-of-the-art facility in June of 2010. Over $8,500,000 has been raised towards the $8,885,000 campaign goal. Although short of the campaign goal at the time of groundbreaking, the YMCA Board of Directors believed that the timing was right and the community would support the YMCA as members and donors to help eliminate the remainder of the goal. The remaining dollars will eliminate debt, and utilize financial resources to support the operations of the YMCA, and plan for future growth and expansion.
Please consider a gift today and support the "Complete the Dream" Capital Campaign. Donor recognition opportunities are still available. Join your friends and neighbors as donors and strong supporters of the Alexandria Area YMCA! View Donors & Partners

Historically and to this day, the YMCA is committed to putting Christian principles into practice through its many program offerings.
The Y is interested in the spiritual well-being of our members, as well as the physical well-being. The Y offers studies, classes, times for prayer, and other opportunities for spiritual strengthening throughout the year for Y members and the community.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The FCA is proud to assist with implementing Biblical principles in all programs and activities at the Y.
The FCA Mission:
To present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives... one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. Each 10 week session, people enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile.
Christian Emphasis Committee
The Christian Emphasis Committee is made up of a group of dedicated Christians and community members that volunteer their time to promote our mission—to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
