Activate America

YMCA Activate America is a national initiative to combat the drastic increase in chronic disease related to obesity, inactivity and poor nutrition, and further assist kids, adults and families who are struggling to lead healthy lifestyles. In addition to supporting this population called health-seekers, the Alexandria Area YMCA is committed to promoting healthy living and is collaborating with community partners to magnify the impact.

YMCA Activate America gives priority to helping children and youth develop healthy habits, reaching a broader adult population, serving racial, ethnic and low-income groups at greatest risk.

Taking a holistic approach to health, developing parallel program and public policy strategies, and embracing collaboration as a core methodology.
